MSTyr15 2nd Newsletter

The first laboratory test results for tyres recommended for snow and ice conditions as well as for the normal tyres (recommended for the summer season) are available to the market surveillance authorities taking part in MSTyr15.  In addition, the inspections of technical documents of tyres have started in most of the participating countries.  More information about the testing activities and the market surveillance inspections can be found in the second newsletter  published by the Action. 

This Market Surveillance Action for Tyres 2015 is also welcoming a new member to its team. Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) has officially joined the MSTyr15 Consortium, making a good start by inspecting 1080 tyres across 60 retailers during May.

MSTyr15 1st Newsletter

The Market Surveillance Action for Tyres 2015 publishes the first newsletter describing the main achievements made during the first year of the project and the future plans.  Here it is a preview:

  • More than 5.000 tyre label inspections have been completed and more will take place over the following months.
  • Good Practice and training guidance notes for coordinated and effective market surveillance of tyres energy labelling have been developed and shared with the authorities participating in the project.

Start of the MStyr15: Combining Safety and Energy Labelling Requirements in One Action

Brussels, 07.04.2016 - 13 EU market surveillance authorities and Turkey have united efforts under the coordination of PROSAFE to enhance the functioning of the European Single Market by ensuring that the tyres regulatory measures are effectively enforced.
The Market Surveillance Action for Tyres 2015, officially launched on 6 April 2016, will deliver energy savings of at least 105 GWh/year through removing incorrectly labelled passenger car tyres from the market.
