MSTyr15 3rd Newsletter
Over the past 24 months, inspectors of fifteen Market Surveillance Authorities (MSAs) from the EU and Turkey have checked 11.899 tyres labels, reviewed 761 technical documentations, and carried out laboratory tests for Wet Grip and Rolling Resistance of 134 different types of tyres. In more than 500 cases, the label was not compliant, not visible, or not available, while first analysis shows that more than 85% of the tyres tested in laboratory were compliant in respect with Wet Grip and Rolling Resistance requirements.
The Member States of the Joint Action MSTyr15 are now finalizing the evaluation of the test results and the inspections of the tyres. They are agreeing together how to coordinate the enforcement actions they are taking in cases of infringement.
Additionally, we are glad to announce that PROSAFE made a common application for both Joint Actions MSTyr15 and EEPLIANT2 to organise a seminar at the next European Union Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW2018). The application is successful and PROSAFE, as the lead, will organise together with ECOS a policy conference on market surveillance and the EU's energy efficiency goals between the 5th and the 7th of June 2018. More details will follow.
