The Market Surveillance Authorities have completed the passenger car tyre inspections and the laboratory test results are now available. For example 'Inspections of label information on the suppliers' websites showed that 627 (21.8%) tyres out of 2,879 were non-compliant.' Read more in the MSTyr15 fourth Newsletter. Over the past 24 months, inspectors of fifteen Market Surveillance Authorities (MSAs) from the EU and Turkey have checked 11.899 tyres labels, reviewed 761 technical documentations, and carried out laboratory tests for Wet Grip and Rolling Resistance of 134 different types of tyres. In more than 500 cases, the label was not compliant, not visible, or not available, while first analysis shows that more than 85% of the tyres tested in laboratory were compliant in respect with Wet Grip and Rolling Resistance requirements.
The Market Surveillance for Tyres 2015 (MSTyr15) has been selected for a poster presentation at the World Sustainable Energy Days 2018 (WSED2018). The event took place from the 28th of February to the 2nd of March 2018, in Wels, Austria. Nicolaas Olie, Executive Director of PROSAFE, was there to present the project.
